My Story

Joan Didion said, “I write entirely to find out what I’m thinking, what I’m looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear.” That’s why I’m here, to write in hopes of discovering something about myself and the world around me.

I began writing in this little corner of the internet more than six years ago—which is nuts. I can’t think of many things I made as a teenager that are still relevant. And I feel a little conflicted returning to this space knowing a lot of time has passed that has brought about growth and change and major shifts in my beliefs, opinions, and worldview (and thank god for all of that, really). If I’m honest with myself, the archives of this blog are embarrassing and confusing, like reading a diary from so long ago that it doesn’t even feel like your own. But I’m leaving all of that old writing here, trusting that someday I will be grateful to have a record of those years in all their naiveté, frivolousness, selfishness, and pure youth.

So here we go…

It sounds like you’re having fun at University. I’m just a bit jealous of you for the classes you get to take!
    Best wishes!
