Carry on, dear friends.

Cause we are
We are shining stars
We are invincible
We are who we are
On our darkest day
When we’re miles away
So we’ll come
We will find our way home

I’ve been listening to the album streaming on their website all night. Some of it is just brilliant. Some Nights and the intro are insane and We are Young is crazy good. Fun has become more than just my replacement band for when the Format broke up simply because it had Nate’s crazy vocals and lyrics. That’s essentially the role Fun played for me for some time (I was so bummed when the Format broke up). But Fun has become a really incredible and innovative band that exceeded all of my expectations when I first heard a rough demo of Benson Hedges on the Format’s website years and years ago. I can’t wait to have a real copy of Some Nights in my hands next week!

Wow, I’m geekin’. I needed an outlet or something. Geez.

Maybe try blogging? I still think The Gambler is my favorite Fun song… I must say though, The Format is pretty spectacular too.

I love the Gambler because it’s beautiful beyond words. Everything about it is perfection. So different from everything else they’ve done (closer to the Format’s early days, really). But Take Your TIme Coming Home is this masterpiece of a song. It’s crazy impressive, I think. When it comes to the Format, it’s a nostalgia thing for me more than anything. I listened to them back in middle school. First Single is what I probably consider to be the ssong I’ve loved for the longest time in my life. Second only to the Rocket Summer. Not sure which appeared in my life first.
