Ridiculous

Inch by inch, row by row.

Today’s Daily Post suggestion was:
You have a magical tree. What does it grow?
Let’s give it a shot.

A magical tree. My magical tree, you say? I suppose I would want many things from my tree. Maybe happiness for my bad days, comfort when I’m hurting, peace to share with the world, and love, lots of love. Love to grow from branches and the tiniest twigs. Love to change with the seasons and cover the earth once it falls. A beautiful blanket of love that no one would dare rake away. My magical tree would grow beautiful flowers, the most beautiful of all, delicate and dainty. At the center of the beautiful flowers would be goodness. Goodness in its purest form. Goodness, held by the fragile petals surrounding it, soaring as the wind hugs it with its might, careful not to damage the small wonder. Landing safely on the ground, it has lived its life, it will forever rest there. From that spot will sprout something remarkable, a friend to the bees. Someone will tend to the little life, recognizing its goodness, and nurture it with love. Little by little, the flower will grow, the cycle will continue, and that little bit of goodness that first landed in that very spot will remain very much a part of the earth.

Inch by inch, row by row
Gonna make this garden grow
All it takes is a rake and a hoe
And a piece of fertile ground
Inch by inch, row by row
Someone bless these seeds I sow
Someone warm them from below
‘Til the rain comes tumbling down
